Since Boxing Day we have raised over £500,000 for the people of the north and east of Sri Lanka. The donations we have received have already enabled our local partners working in Sri Lanka to run 252 welfare centres - including the deployment of scores of doctors - and to deliver to them 10 truckloads of food, equipment and medicines every day.

They are now urgently working to prevent the outbreak of potentially fatal epidemic diseases like malaria and diarrhoea. They are also working to educate and inform local residents about the dangers posed by dislodged landmines in this politically turbulent area.

Direct Debit Scheme

 This involves people committing to donate a fixed amount of money each month, which is taken directly from their bank account. As little as £5 a month (which is 16p a day) can amount to £60 a year.

For example When you set up direct debit it will charge £10 immediately, followed by monthly payments of £5 for 12 months.
