Dr Namasivayan Sathiya Moorthy

Dr Moorthy was responsible for setting up White Pigeon in the UK in January 2004. He is a practitioner of complementary medicine, and founder of the Ayurvedic Medical Association in the UK. He takes clients from all over the UK and Europe and was made a Freeman of the City of London in March 1998 for his work in complementary medicine and the treatment of alcoholism. A Tamil refugee, he came to London in 1989, following a successful career in Sri Lanka, and four years in South India, treating the refugees of the Sri Lankan civil war. The president of the Human Rights Organisation in Sri Lanka, he has been imprisoned as a political prisoner. Whilst in India, he worked closely with the TRO.He is a regular broadcaster, with a medical programme on the International Broadcasting Corporation. Since the Tsunami disaster, he has appeared on various news broadcasts from the Vectone and TTN satellite TV stations.
